I can’t believe another year has gone by.  Time really does seem to go by fast.  But this year was one of our best EVER.  It would not have been possible if it wasn’t for you guys our clients, readers, and followers.

With that being said, let’s take a look at some highlights for 2014, my predictions for this past year if they came true, and predictions for the future.

2014 Highlights:

  • The first thing that stands out to me is our very first Combine For Autism event.  We did this in April to raise awareness for autism.  We had some awesome volunteers, over 30 participants, and raised over $2000 with our first event.  It was definitely something that we will try to repeat again in 2015.
  • Congratulations to a few of our athletes who were lucky enough to be able to continue playing their sport in college.  Becca Gallagher is running track at Otterbein College doing the pole vault which is something new for her.  Becca was a former gymnast at the school where Jaden Miller and Morgan Hunker train at (probably why her coaches think she can do the pole vault).  Jaden is continuing gymnastics at SE Missouri  and Morgan recently committed to doing gymnastics at the University of Pennsylvania.  Ethan Myers, a former athlete of the month and holder of several records on our record board, is playing baseball at Capital University.
  • Brad Kanney was one of a few athletes we had that competed in the Ohio state track and field championships.  He is the only one though that was part of a state title as him and 3 of his teammates got first place in the 4×100 relay.
  • We also put together our first track club that competed in one summer track meet.  We had nine athletes participate and all nine was able to take home a ribbon or medal in the events they chose to participate in.

Predictions I Had For 2014:

  • I was wanting to get some sales for my online speed program, the Run Faster Method, in Asia and Africa.  But, we did make a couple sales in Australia, specifically one in Tasmania.
  • I predicted that NFL injuries would still be a boom and they are.  But, that isn’t necessarily translating into more younger athletes training with us.  Speed and strength is still the big reason people are training with us.  Injury prevention has been given as a reason maybe one time.
  • I don’t think I tried a gluten free diet at all.  I might have had some individuals items that were gluten free, but not a diet for any length of time.

2015 Predictions:

  • I still think injury prevention will be huge.  I think you will see more companies that will spring up that will combine physical therapy and strength and conditioning components.  I want to target more sports teams, especially girls basketball and soccer, with the goal of doing more solid injury prevention.
  • I want to expand our company to do more off-site training for sports teams.  Specifically, travel teams not affiliated with schools.  I think there is too much red-tape BS to deal with at high schools or below, so let’s take it to these club/travel teams.
  • Finally, I think that Crossfit’s popularity will start tapering off.  I don’t see as many of my facebook friends posting their Crossfit exploits, so I think they have moved on to the next fitness craze.

Hope your 2014 was all you thought it would be and that your 2015 is even BETTER!
